One of my favorite singers ever, Katy Perry, is about to re-release her “Teenage Dream” album with all new tracks. The album is set to release on March 26th with new songs including her new single “Part of Me” which raised 13 spots in one week on the American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest. More songs include “Wide Awake” and “Dressing Up”.
In an interview with MTV she told them the reasons why she decided to add more tracks. One of the reasons she did it was to give her “hardcore” fans (like me) a little more, because she had these songs but she was unable to put them on her album in the first place, because she could only fit 12 tracks on it. She also had another reason, stating:
“It’s my one last push, to push that person that is on the precipice of becoming a fan. They’re thinking to themselves, ‘I bought four or five singles, maybe I should actually complete my album and now I should really complete my album because I’m gonna get 19 songs for a really great price.’ I think it’s like a bargain and I’m doing it for my fans.”
Katy Perry has had a crazy past few months with getting a divorce from her husband, Russell Brand, and ending her California Dreams tour, which I was lucky enough to see, but she has kept a positive attitude, and seems to be doing really well. She is also set to premiere her new music video, “Part of Me” on MTV on Wednesday, March 21st, and I would highly recommend watching it.
Katy Perry is also being nominated for Best Animated Voice, Best Female Singer, and “Best Song” for her song “Firework” at the annual 2012 Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, so if you want to see her win, VOTE!
