Nick Valente is a student of the culinary program at the F.D. Myers Education Center at VO-TEC. Culinary instructor, Mrs. Maureen Clancy, asked Nick if he would like to appear in the cooking segment of the Sunday morning broadcast on October 21, and said, “Sure.” Even though he had to get there early to prepare for the piece that was aired live at 8:45, he enjoyed the experience. “It was kind of cool seeing how they actually run the news and all the behind the scenes stuff that goes on. You take all morning to prepare for only 4 minutes of being on the air. It goes by really quick.”
Nick has applied to the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park and Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Eventually, Nick hopes to own his own restaurant after having head chef experience.
