Black Friday has come and gone. Mrs. O has once again adorned her room in lights to celebrate the season. There was a mention of playing Christmas music on GTV this morning. And the weekend is coming…so plan to watch some holiday movies. There are many Christmas movies that everyone of any age can watch. Watching these movies always brings the family together and a great way to spend this weekend, a snowy weekend in the near future or (gasp!) a snow day. The top ten movies every family should watch are listed here:
- A Christmas Story – 1983 American Christmas comedy film. Also one of the holiday classics.
- The Santa Clause – 1994 family film. A fantasy comedy Christmas film.
- How The Grinch Stole Christmas – 2000 American Holiday fantasy-comedy film. Based off of 1957 book by Dr. Seuss.
- A Miracle on 34th street – 1947 Christmas film. The film has become a perennial Christmas favorite.
- It’s a Wonderful Life- 1946 American Christmas drama film. One of the most inspirational American films of all time.
- Polar Express- 2004 motion capture computer-animated fantasy film. Based off of a children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.
- Scrooged- 1988 American comedy film. Based off Charles Dickens book A Christmas Carol.
- Home Alone- 1990 American family comedy film. Was the highest grossing comedy film for Christmas.
- Elf- 2003 American Christmas comedy film. A must watch Christmas movie.
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation- 1989 Christmas comedy. A modern holiday classic.
