The blind auditions have started on the reality talent television show The Voice. Each season the coaches form their teams of contestants who they mentor through the remainder of the season. The coach’s chairs are faced towards the audience during contestant’s performances. Those interested in a contestant press their button and then they turn their chair towards them and show the bottom of the chair that says, “I want you”. At the conclusion of the performance, a contestant either defaults to the only coach who turned around, or selects their coach if more than one turn around and are interested. This is the fourth season staring four coaches on the chairs. Last year’s season Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Christina Aguilera were the coaches.
This year Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have returned. New coaches, Usher and Shakira have entered the competition to take the other coaches spot. Each coach has chosen twelve contestant singers to train and try to win the competition. The auditions for the contestants were held from January 12th to February 17th. Most of the blind auditions have aired on television already and the coaches are now ready to train there contestants. Soon will come the “battle rounds”, in which coaches pair contestants to perform together, and chooses one to advance in the competition. Only one coach and one contestant can win this competition. The Voice shows music talent and is being watched by 13.6 million viewers with a 4.8 rating. It’s on the channel NBC and is aired on Mondays and Tuesdays 8/7c. It’s a great show, so turn it on and watch it. You’ll be surprised what singing talent is on the show.
