A New Face in Room 507
GALWAY–Mr. Hall is Galway’s new part time English teacher. Mr. Hall came to Galway after the charter school he taught at in Albany closed due to recent consolidations. Mr. Hall has 6 years of teaching experience, teaching high school classes including 10th and 12th grade and also 8th grade. He is familiar with Galway because he grew up right around the corner and attended school at Ballston Spa High School. After high school, Mr. Hall went on to SUNY Plattsburgh where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in English Lit. He enjoys all aspects of English but in particular enjoys story telling. His favorite book is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, which inspired a movie that will be coming out in theaters this November. The book inspired him to want to be a teacher.
Teaching, however, has not been his only occupation. Mr. Hall has had a variety of occupations, starting with his first job as a camp counselor at a popular Boy Scout camp, Boy Haven. Since then he has served 5 years in the military, managed a restaurant, and worked with construction. Mr. Hall is also a big fan of sports. He played many sports in high school including track, baseball, and basketball and in college was the team captain of a bowling league. He also enjoys watching sports and is a big Vikings fan.
He only has class with 9th grade so if you see him around be sure to stop in and say hello!
