Vroom…vroom
LAKE GEORGE–On Friday and Saturday, September 7th and 8th, the Adirondack Nationals Car Show celebrated its 25th anniversary event at Fort William Henry. Cars and spectators all over the east coast came to see and participate in this show that had about a three year registration waiting list! Only vehicles that are 1979’s and older can enter. There are roughly 1500 specialty cars and trucks that come that can’t get into the show but still get to show off.
Out side of the show there were cars ranging from 2010 Challengers to 2005 Mustang GT’s to 1930 Coupes and anything else from a Ford, Chevy, and Studebaker. Junior Nicole Marchese attended the event with senior Jeff Kline. Marchese shared, “Jeff and I saw two Vipers. They also had this car that was covered in what appeared to be denim and was made to have the texture and look of blue jeans.”
The parade on Friday night was full of many daring drivers that were ready to show off all the enhancements their cars had to offer. Some spectators on back roads would throw water on the road just so it was easier for the tires to spin. The whole crowd got very involved in this event and cheered on every car that went by.
On Saturday it took roughly an hour to find a parking spot no matter what time you showed up. Even when rain came halfway through the day, parking was still scarce. Many people just pulled out umbrellas and enjoyed the show.
