Wanted: Super powers!
Superman is super strong and can fly. Spiderman can climb buildings like he doesn’t weigh anything… and there are many other superheroes with many different superpowers.
But have you ever wondered which superpower you would choose? I have, and the choice isn’t easy.
The first one that comes into my head is the ability to teleport myself from one place to another. I would never have to spend time traveling and I would save money too! I would never be late, and I would have more time to do other things. I would definitely travel the world and visit all the amazing places of the world and all the people that don’t live near me. Whenever I had a bad situation, I would just disappear and go to a place where I feel safe. And I would be the world champion of playing hide and seek!
Another awesome power would be to find a solution for everything. No more global warming or wars or research on cancer’s cure. The world would be a so much better place and lots of people wouldn’t have lost their lives. But it would mean I would be really busy helping everybody so I would prefer to gift this power to other people, rather than have it.
Sometimes I think that having the power of reading people’s mind would be great, but then I ask myself, do I really want to know what people think about me? Am I prepared to know about things I don’t like or I may don’t want to know? The answer is no. Everybody has bad things to think about me and I know that, but I don’t really think I want to know them–I couldn’t handle it.
And finally, one of the best superpowers ever would be to be able to manage time–to have a remote control like for the TV but instead control the clock with it. Stop it in good times to just look at the scene and the people you are with and enjoy the moment while it is happening. Go back to revive good memories, or moments that you know are impossible to recover, like childhood or moments with people you are not in touch with anymore. And go forward whenever you are having a hard time or you need to get through a rough patch you are facing.
Those are my top choices for superpowers but there are others that would be nice accessories. For example, it would be cool to have the ability to change clothes in a snap or to know all the truth hidden between people’s different theories or be able to fly. Wouldn’t it be great to see everything from above and fly free like a bird? I think it would be an awesome feeling and I would go flying whenever I was stressed, just to feel the wind on my face and forget for a while what is going on down in the Earth.
I would really love to have these superpowers but just for a little while, because in the end, my life’s journey would have been manipulated and not followed its the intended course. Everything would be so safe for me, which could jeopardize the opportunity for adventure and casualties that lead to meeting people or experiencing and learning from genuine moments.
