The Lady Eagles continue to play well
The Varsity Lady Eagles have had a fantastic start to the season winning their first game against Spa Catholic and totally crushing St. Johnsville during their most recent home game, Friday the 6th. Representing the Eagles were Felicia Snyder, Courtney Sowle, Emily Zawisa, Morgan Ritter, Erica Chase, Shelby Suits, Erin Breckenridge, Raven Pink, and Lindsey Naughton. The team started out strong and continued to be strong until the very end winning 54-39. The whole team has been working hard and all of them contributed to the rebounds and steals throughout the game. Top scorers of the game were Felicia with 15 points, Raven with 11 points, and Erin with 9 points.
The Lady Eagles won their away game against Mayfield, 41-31. The game started out close with a score of 10-8 with Galway in the lead. The score did not change until after halftime and then the final score of 41-31. Top scorers were Lindsey Naughton with 11 points, and Erica Chase and Morgan Ritter with 10 points each.
Unfortunately the Lady Eagles lost their away game against Fort Plain. The whole game was extremely close and Galway was actually winning ¾ of the game. At half time the score was 21-19 with Galway just holding onto the lead. The ladies played fantastic defense only holding Fort Plain to 19 points because they are known for driving, putting the opposing team in some foul trouble, and then making all their foul shots. Nearing the third quarter Galway had two points on Fort Plain having the score be 30-28. The final quarter was a very close having Galway be in the lead for the majority of it but just losing it at the end leaving the final score, 44-49. Top scorers were Erica Chase with 18 points, Felicia Synder with 8 points, and Morgan Ritter and Lindsey Naughton with 6 points. The home game against Fort Plain should be a very good one so stay tuned and make sure you attend that game!
