Do you have a favorite teacher? Have they influenced your life in a special way or helped you substantially as a student? Do you appreciate them so much that you want them to be recognized for their achievements as an educator? Then you can write about them in The Barnes & Noble My Favorite Teacher essay contest.

For the contest, you must write an essay, poem, or thank-you letter about your favorite Galway teacher. After reading the rules and having your parent or guardian’s signature on the entry form, you have put your favorite teacher in the running for the local, regional and national Teacher of the Year awards.

If you win the contest you will be honored in a special ceremony at our local Barnes & Noble store and receive a certificate of recognition. If you are one of the five regional winners, your favorite teacher will also receive a $500 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. And if your teacher wins the “Barnes & Noble Teacher of the Year Award” they will win $5000! And so will our school!

It’s a great chance to get your favorite Galway teacher recognized for all that they do. The essays can be no more than 500 words and must be submitted by March 1st.
