The 7th grade just concluded their reading of the novel Johnny Tremain.
This is a poem I wrote while studying the book in February.
This poem is from Cilla Lapham’s perspective.
I am from the deep waters of Boston,
A bright light shown, never forgotten,
A dear sister who I have grown to,
And a fateful friend or maybe two.
My fate has gone wary, askew,
Into great care of a mystery breakthrough,
The gavel sounds, we are innocent,
But we are not let off the hook, never sure of it.
From the mainland to the shore,
The daunting war will never let go.

This was an amazing poem Katie! That is also a wonderful drawing. I love that you make your articles stand out by adding your own illustrations. Great work! 🙂
