It’s number 13, Amber Kolpakas. She will be going to the University of Oklahoma to study meteorology. She would like to thank her coaches, teammates, and family for all the support and encouragement through the years.
Her teammates and friends are all going to greatly miss her. She has been a big inspiration and so much more for them all. Below a few of her teammates took some time to express this.
“I’ve not only had the pleasure to play with Amber for the last 3 years but also cheer her on my whole life. Amber has always been not only a role model for me but our entire community. I will miss our lunch table comedies (especially every Wednesday getting cheesy breadsticks), our bus ride energy drinks while everyone is sleeping, our end of the throwing routine and high five, but most importantly our pregame hugs. As soon as I met you, you took me under your wing even though I’m four years younger than you. I’m so incredibly grateful to not only call you my teammate, but also my best friend, and I don’t know where I’d be without you. Amber we will always be so proud of your accomplishments you have made her and the impact you have made on our program. Thank you for being you, we will miss you so much!”- Courtney Smith
“I haven’t gotten the chance to play with Amber for too long but I can’t even remember the first time hearing her name. You have been my inspiration in not only softball but volleyball as well. I know I can’t be the only one looking up to all the accomplishments you have made here at Galway. I’m going to miss tallying up your kills in volleyball and cheering you on when you’re on the mound when you step on home plate after your millionth homerun. I’m going to miss almost peeing my pants laughing when you bark at random dogs through the bus window. Thank you for everything Amber!”- Kristina Becker
