Galway High School’s National Honor Society Chapter presents its second annual Festival of Nations! Member Magdalene Maciag hosted the premier event last April and, citing overwhelming success, has arranged a more extensive community event to be hosted next week. Held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st in Galway High School classrooms, the event will feature presentations from local students, teachers, and community members representing their heritage. In addition to traditional food samples, music, games, and fascinating cultural discussions, the Festival touts a raffle hosted by local businesses and school clubs, a children’s world trivia game hosted by the Galway Library’s Teen Advisory Board, a display of Galway’s town heritage by the local Preservation Society and a language passport transporting attendees through each country represented. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable or monetary donation to the door in exchange for raffle tickets. All donations support the Galway Food Pantry.
