Jeannine Yates
How long have you been in your profession?
I have been District Treasurer here at Galway CSD for almost a year.
What did you do before becoming district treasurer?
I have worked in various roles in business, Director of Development and Program Coordinator for nonprofit organizations, but I have also taught preschool. I also was the Galway High School secretary.
What is your favorite part about being treasurer?
I like working with everyone in the school (the teachers, the business office personnel) and I get to make sure there’s enough money in the bank.
Do you have any regrets becoming treasurer?
I miss seeing all the students.
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Galway School?
I think it’s a pretty awesome place to go to school. I like the size of the school.
What is your favorite sport and why?
My favorite sport is soccer because my son plays soccer. I also like basketball because my other son is playing it. I like whatever sport my children play at the moment.
What is your favorite game to play?
I like to play Scrabble. I am a pretty good speller.
What’s your favorite book to read?
My favorite book of all time I read in college was called The Awakening by Kate Chopin. I liked the way it was written. There is a scene where she goes into water–it was written in such a way I could feel the water. Throughout the book you can feel what she is going through.
What is your favorite movie to watch?
My favorite movie is the Goonies, because I liked the adventure they went on. I could watch it again and again, and it makes you want to go on the adventure.
