Spring planting…
Growing up with my grandfather who owns a greenhouse and my mom being a retired florist… it was pretty hard for me not to get an interest in plants. Flowers, ivy, and all that sort of stuff. One plant that really sparked an interest for me recently are succulents. They are baby cacti. They are also known as a water storage plant. Representative species of the adorable and amazing plant include aloe vera, zanzibar gem, garden asparagus, and many others that you can just google. I decided it would be a good idea to raise my own succulent and then propagate it! I will take pictures of it and include more and more information about it! When propagating you will just take a cutting from the plant, or leaf put it in its own pot and then… well you’ll see, so I won’t spoil it for you. I will give you updates weekly or monthly on the propogation of my plant. The succulent that I have chosen to propagate is a sedeveria hybrid, also known as a ‘Blue Elf.’ It is one of the many intergeneric hybrids between Sedum and Echeveria. Next week I am going to start to propagate it. I am letting it acclimate to its environment first. My long term goal is to see if maybe I’ll get another succulent! Throughout this process I’m going to keep it in Mrs. Decker’s Room because her room has a lot of access to light.
